Role Overview As a Resident Care Specialist at Serenity Pointe, you are the heart of our 9-bed community. Unlike large, institutional facilities, our intimate residential setting allows you the time to build meaningful relationships with each resident. You will implement our Serenity Care360 holistic approach, ensuring the mind, body, and spirit of every resident are nurtured. III. Key Responsibilities and Duties 1. Holistic Health and Clinical Monitoring Proactive Health Management: Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, O2 levels). Act as the "eyes and ears" for our 24/7 on-call licensed physicians and RNs. Medication Administration: Manage medication schedules with 100% accuracy, following all Texas HHS safety protocols and "Six Rights" of administration. Specialized Care Support: Provide skilled support for residents with moderate dementia, psychiatric conditions, or specialized medical needs (e.g., oxygen therapy, wound care, or sliding-scale diabetic protocols). Emergency Triage: Utilize our concierge medical protocols to provide quick solutions and reduce unnecessary hospital visits. 2. Personalized Daily Care (ADLs) Dignified Assistance: Provide gentle help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. We prioritize the resident's privacy and self-esteem in every interaction. Mobility and Transfers: Safely assist residents with mobility, ranging from standby help to two-person transfers and the use of PERS alert systems and Hoyer lifts. Incontinence Management: Manage toileting needs with sensitivity, ensuring skin integrity and resident comfort are maintained at all times. 3. Nutritional and Environmental Excellence Fresh Culinary Support: Prepare fresh, homemade dishes from scratch, ensuring they meet strict dietary modifications (Gluten-free, Diabetic-friendly, Mechanical Chop, or Puree). Home Maintenance: Maintain the "home away from home" atmosphere through light housekeeping, laundry, and suite tidying. Safety Oversight: Monitor door alarms, fenced rear areas, and safety systems to ensure a secure environment, especially for residents with dementia. 4. Engagement and Companionship Serenity Wellness: Facilitate daily activities such as Tai Chi, Pilates, and social outings designed to foster wellness and social connection. Emotional Support: Provide active companionship and listening, ensuring residents feel valued, independent, and connected to the community. IV. Requirements and Qualifications Education: High School Diploma required. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or a certified Caregiving qualification (e.g., NC II) is highly preferred for international candidates. Experience: Minimum 2 years in senior care or a hospital setting. Familiarity with memory care and high-acuity residential care is a plus. Communication: Exceptional English proficiency (verbal and written) to communicate with doctors, families, and residents. Physical Ability: Must be able to perform transfers, lift up to 50 lbs, and remain active throughout the shift. Core Values: We require absolute integrity, patience, and a respectful demeanor.
