Seeking an experienced gardener to assist in all aspects of garden maintenance (vegetable and formal) on a 8-acre property in New Canaan. This is a seasonal part time position reporting to the Head Gardener. We are open to candidates with less experience who demonstrate a willingness to learn and take instruction.

Responsibilities include:

• Planting, dividing, weeding, mulching, pruning, deadheading and fertilizing using best horticultural practices.
• Monitor for pests and disease and report findings
• Monitor irrigation system and report any problems
• Hand water floral containers and vegetable garden area
• Maintain a neat and orderly work space

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Ideally, 1-2 years of hands-on, gardening experience. We will train
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather for 8 hours per day
• Must be self-motivated, dependable and able to manage time efficiently and execute tasks independently
• Ability to lift 30 pounds (including up/down stairs and hills).
• Possess a positive, collaborative team driven work ethic.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
