Work hours: 35 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 7 hours/day, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Job Duties:

Worker will manually plant, cultivate and harvest vegetables and fruits. Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil and applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops; applying pesticides; cleaning, grading, sorting, packing, and loading harvested products. May participate in irrigation activities. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity.

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum of 1 month experience required.

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Job will require exposure to extreme temperatures.

Extensive pushing and pulling is required.

Extensive walking or sitting is required.

Frequent stooping or bending over is required.

Repetitive movements are required.

Drug testing will be performed after hire, randomly, upon accident, incident, or suspicion and will be performed at the expense of the employer.

Background checks are required for this job opportunity since Anderson Truck Farm is a family farm located in a public setting. As a result, applicants with any charges of assault, sexual misconduct, acts toward children, theft, lewd conduct, or public indecency are not accepted. Criminal background check will be conducted post-hire and at the employer's expense.

Additional Compensation

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

A worker can earn bonuses and/or wage increases based on performance and length of service with the employer. This benefit is at the sole discretion of the employer.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 04/07/2026)). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
