Job Description

Bookkeeper

Recruiting firm seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a client in Lancaster, PA. This full-time role supports AP/AR, deposits, payroll, invoicing, and reconciliations in QuickBooks .

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable: enter vendor bills, prepare weekly check runs, and maintain supporting documentation
  • Process accounts receivable: post payments, monitor ACH receipts, and follow up as needed
  • Record and reconcile deposits (merchant services and remote check deposits)
  • Run payroll and maintain related records
  • Create and send invoices (including online/web orders); enter POs and generate sales orders
  • Support purchasing and inventory: issue POs, forecast needs, and process inventory adjustments
  • Prepare required tonnage/feed license filings as applicable
  • Provide general administrative support (phones, customer communication)

Additional Duties (Monthly/Quarterly)

  • Complete bank and account reconciliations (including Fulton/BOSS, merchant services, and money market)
  • Prepare monthly sales reporting and AgData reporting
  • Process PayPal transfers and commission payments
  • File PA sales tax and support other routine compliance filings as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • QuickBooks experience (required)
  • Solid understanding of AP/AR and bank reconciliations
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and discretion with confidential information
  • Proficiency with Excel and email
  • Preferred: payroll processing, inventory/PO workflows, and sales tax/reporting experience
