DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role will play a crucial part in the Operation & Performance Division's initiative to enhance and modernize internal documentation and resources for staff, including the revision of Pub 113, the Highway Foreman's Manual. The responsibilities will involve collaborating on the assessment and rewriting of the manual to ensure it aligns with the evolving requirements of new technology platforms, thereby promoting consistency and efficiency. Additionally, the position will focus on updating various administrative forms utilized by the Division to streamline operations. A significant aspect of this role will also include the development and revitalization of training materials, encompassing academy courses, Maintenance Assembly Trainings, Surface Improvement Trainings, and other specialized training sessions. These materials will be created using diverse formats such as PowerPoint presentations, videos, and infographics. Furthermore, the role may require the production of specific content for these training packages, which could involve capturing photographs and videos during field operations related to maintenance activities, ensuring that the training is both relevant and practical. This position will be headquartered within DOT's District 9 (Hollidaysburg) or District 10 (Indiana) Office. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time internship that will run from May 2026 through August 2026 Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUA LIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Must be currently enrolled or intending to enroll full-time or part-time in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree, or advanced degree program. Acceptable major of Business Administration/Management, Education/Instructional Design, Communications or a closely related major. Must be a Pennsylvania resident or currently enrolled at a Pennsylvania college or university.
